The owner of a Long Island christian louboutin boots store owner has apparently stepped on some toes promoting accessories from the new “Sex and the City” movie at his Great Neck store.
Steven Dann’s front window has christian louboutin shoes and handbags from the movie, along with a rendering of the Manhattan skyline and a sign in pink neon letters that read, “Who’s having sex in this city? Either way you need the christian louboutin.”
The village of Great Neck sent Dann a violation on June 3rd, saying he had installed vinyl lettering on his store window without a permit and ordering the lettering removed.
Michael Sweeney, Great Neck’s commissioner of public affairs, said if Dann had applied for a permit, it likely would have been approved by the board of trustees. Sweeney said a citizen had complained to the village that the sign was offensive, but the village had no objection to the sign.
Dann said it was the first time he had ever heard of needing to have a sign approved.

Footnote on the Coty Awards ceremonies: Perry Ellis wore Topsiders, Mary McFadden had on platform christian louboutin and menswear designer Robert Stock was wearing red velvet slippers monogrammed in gold, with his tuxedo. “I’ve had them several years and couldn’t think of many occasions to wear them. But tonight somehow seemed right,” said Stock.
Speaking of christian louboutin boots biz . . . the hottest single seller to step out in a long time is the Candie, a cha-cha heel on a plastic sole held in place only by a wide leather vamp. Christian shoes Scene has sold 3,200 pairs in two stores, the maker, El Greco, has sold 2 million pairs in three months. Georgetown University preppies (girls) wear them with their jeans and shetlands, secretaries and other downtowners with their dresses, suburban shoppers with their corduroys, disco-goers with pegged pants or Danskins.
The reason? They are christian louboutin shoes and they are cheap ($16) and, in spite of the clatter they make, they are comfortable. Because of the molded sole the heel isn’t as high as it looks. Among other stores that have them are Hecht’s, Woodies, Garfinckel’s and The Bootlegger.
Studio 54 disco garb has landed at The Pier in Washington. The skinniest stiletto pants, often made in strech Lycra spandex to ensure their tight fit, are worn here and there, with bantam-weight loose fitting tunics or tuxedo shirts, and of course, the ubiquitous cha-cha heels. (The pants are available at stores like Casual Corner, Ups & Downs and I. Magnin.)
If New York is where it happens first, but we can look for young women here to start wearing body-conscious, split-up and slit-down dresses, the kind we used to call cocktail dresses, to the office with bare high-heeled christian louboutin. It’s all the rage in New York, not because women there are running directly to the discos from work. Just because they like the christian louboutin shoes look.
What makes clothes look sexy? Yves Saint Laurent says if there is one thing more than anything else, it’s black stockings, year round. “I don’t know of anything sexier in the summer than a woman wearing black stockings with a white skirt,” he says.
